How to use fruit powders in baking.
Most people would be fairly experienced with the use of liquid flavorings, essences or pastes but powder really are no different. When making cakes or biscuits, add them in with your dry ingredients. Same with icing mixtures, for wet mixes such as buttercream, add them in and mix well. It really is that easy.
The recipes below have been tried and tested to produce a nicely identifiable flavor, but not too strong. However it is entirely up to you to play with these amounts, use the amounts in the recipes below as your starting point. Some of the fruit powders are strong, such as any of the citrus fruits and passion fruit is particularly nice in icings and buttercream.
